This is Lennie’s 6th visit to Canterbury. None of us will forget his 2017 performance on a picnic table in the bar tent as the rain poured down.
Lennie will be bringing his latest album Time Travel. It takes us on a trip that delves in journeys of the heart, our time on the planet, contact in the universe, ancient myths, legends and an oddly confused ghost. It is an exciting, explorative (musically and thematically) and deeply evocative album. Industry insiders are saying “it is his finest recording to date”.
Recognized by his peers as one of Canada’s best performing songwriters, he has won a host of awards and nominations including the JUNO’s, and 18 East Coast Music Awards. He was named Canadian Folk Artist of the Year for 2016 and his song Peter’s Dream was voted as one of the Top Ten East Coast Songs of All Time.
A recipient of the Order of Canada, Lennie has toured across the continent, in Europe, for the troops in Afghanistan and at the Winter Olympics. He has toured with symphony orchestras and his songs have been covered by many other artists.
Lennie has been involved in numerous charity events and he recently received the PEI Red Cross Humanitarian Award for his collaboration with and support of many worthwhile causes. His work with the Mikinduri Children of Hope (for impoverished children in Kenya) is particularly close to his heart, and he has raised money through his concerts for this in PEI.
